The Balsells Fellowship at the University of California, Irvine celebrated its 20th anniversary with a luncheon at the Avenida Palace Hotel in Barcelona. Approximately 160 people attended the event including Balsells Fellows and members of the academic institutions in Catalonia. Members of present and past governments of the Generalitat who have been major supporters of the program were also in attendance, including former Conseller Andreu Mas-Colell and current Secretary of Universities and Research, Professor Arcadi Navarro. The fellows gave Pete Balsells a painting representing the relationship between California and Catalonia.
